Anonymity is freeing.
There is no fear. No hesitation. No wondering what someone will think when they know the words belong to you. You can say whatever you choose without holding yourself back.
There are certain burdens that are not easily shared. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be.
Wounds. Secrets. Love. Anger. Grief. Regret. The things we carry quietly because we don't know how to explain them, or because saying them out loud makes them feel too real.
Everything needs an outlet.
When you trap something inside of you, it doesn't simply disappear. Sometimes it grows. It gets heavier. It takes up more space than it ever should have had.
Sometimes saying it helps.
Maybe not because saying it fixes anything. Maybe not because there is suddenly an answer. Sometimes it helps simply because the words are no longer trapped inside of you.
And sometimes, you realize you aren't as alone as you thought.
There is someone out there who has felt the same anger.
Someone who has carried the same secret.
Someone who has loved someone they probably shouldn't have.
Someone who has sat awake at night with the same thoughts running through their head.
Someone who is just as scared to say it as you are.
We spend so much time thinking our feelings make us strange. That our mistakes make us unworthy. That the things we carry are ours to carry alone.
But maybe they aren't.
Maybe the first step is simply putting them somewhere.
On paper.
Into words.
Into the void.
And maybe, somewhere in that void, someone hears the echo and realizes they aren't alone.
Some things are easier to write when no one knows who is holding the pen.
